Rapidprototyped Weighted Companion Storage Cube

Here are the .sldprt and .stl files for the project
For those of you who do not have SolidWorks, you can get the e-drawings file (wcc.exe) instead. Just download it and open it - no special programs needed.

Would you please post your cool object/project onto www.thingiverse.com? That is a site that is frequented by a huge number of the rapid prototyping crowd. MakerBot, RepRap, Ultimaker, MakerGear and other makers and owners and wannabes.
Finally some one made a companion cube. but why is every one using 3D printers to make one, I am about half way making my companion cube

Keep up the good work! I used an RP machine because I'm better at CAD than actually building stuff.

Thanks, Zorink for posting the help with the *.tmp files. It worked for me and now I can view the files.

I'm surprised Eric hasn't fixed it yet. Is there a way to submit a bug report?

That's cool. Instructable coming soon?

Oops, I forgot to link to it

Why are these files only downloading as .TMP? I have SolidWorks and tried DLing in both IE and FireFox. Am I doing something wrong?

I think it's an instructables bug :( The same thing happens when I try to download files from here sometimes. The fix is to save the file as

"file name.file type"

if you put quotes around the name like above it will use the file type you put in. For example:
To save '2 inch box bottom'
  • right-click the file
  • save as
  • in the name field type (including quotes) "2 inch box bottom.stl"
This method also works just renaming files. Use the quotes and the file type extention when you rename a file an it should change the file type as well as the name.
That worked. Thanks a lot!
