Nice try, Carroll.

I'm confused......
Nevermore, penned the author...
So "Poe wrote on both" - Sam Loyd

As it turns out Carroll wrote as an afterthought on the nonsensical riddle...

"Enquiries have been so often addressed to me, as to whether any answer to the Hatter's Riddle can be imagined, that I may as well put on record here what seems to me to be a fairly appropriate answer, viz: 'Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is nevar put with the wrong end in front!'"

See here for more ideas...
My favourite pithy response is "Both have inky quills", if you are old enough to know what a quill is :)

I like that answer, too! I'll remember it...
My favourite is... "There's a b in both and an n in neither"... fits the original vibe
... I don't get it? There's an 'n' in both and a 'b' in neither, unless that's the whole point.

There is a "B" in "B"oth and an "N" in "N"either. Conceiveably, it could be used to answer any possible association riddle.
Except that PKM is correct. See the original riddle, "How is a raven like a writing desk?" There is, in fact, an 'n' in both, and a 'b' in neither.
