Reflective paint for light fixture

Hello all,

I am working on a light fixture and I would like to paint the walls of the fixture a reflective color in order to get a more even spread of light. I've been hearing silver and white as good options. Is one better than the other? Do I need a specific type of paint? Does it matter whether its a matte finish or glossy?

Thanks,

Ben

For the most even distribution use a flat white. Silver of gloss paints with give a much harsher and uneven reflection.

How hot is the fixture going to get? If it gets too hot the paint will yellow quickly, in that case use an "appliance paint".
