Runescape vs. WoW
Is Runescape better than World of Warcraft? Runescape doesn't have to cost money, but WoW does. Get all acces on wow regardless of anything. runescape has limits if you Free to play (F2P). You decide... leave comments, argue or agree.

This is a level 85 Blood elf paladin in retribution gear, I have a subscription to runescape as well and in my opinion I think wow is my favorite of the 2 accounts mainly because of the multitude of things I can do in game vs what I can do in runescape, yes wow is $15 a month but in everything you do you must pay to play or so the saying goes so why complain about the price when you can have fun. As for those that say this game is violent you are highly mistaken there is not even a drop of blood in this game that I have yet encountered so to say it is violent is untrue also on that note that doesn't make runescape any better because you still kill things on your quests so either way you look at it both games are essentially "violent" but yet I stand with wow being my preferred game of choice.

Runescape sucks on graphics, and play. The size of one tiny town on Wow is the size of the whole of runescape. DONT DOWNLOAD WOW OF THE INTERNET, buy the discs instead, install on an iMac took me 4hours. My friend plays Runescape hes turned UBER UBER fat and has no proper mates anymore. FOR THE ALLIANCE :)

this really sucks! i bought WoW today and a 60 day game card for it. installed it, put up my account and then i have to download the patches... apparently on my computer, it will take 13 hours to download ONE patch! WTF!!!! I cant leave it going over nite because my parents will go mad! DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS????? Please tell me if you do. All i need is a way to shorten the download time.

Downloading from Blizzard has always been slow. For all of their games. Perhaps you should try to find an off site download.

Personally I would go with runescape I used to play but my account has probably been deleted now.... I have seen allot of my buddies get addicted to world of war craft and one of them got bad eyesight from looking at the screen to much and the other got sick from eating to much junk.. But I would rather ride a bicycle or build something or go for a walk than play a game. Yes its addicting but there are people that are getting filthy rich off of you sitting in front of your computer. I don't like when people get rich of of me (IM REALLY CHEAP) . But to sum it all up you don't accomplish anything. When you build a table you can look back and say i built that 20 years from now. but when your playing a game you cant say Oh I got to level 450 in wow twenty years ago.(450 might be on the high end im just guessing( I don't Play it)) I guess you could but you don't have anything to show for it.. And you just get frustrated when your playing games.

Rappelz has a totally free for life contract. It's kept running by people buying items with real money that they don't want to get in game. I think that's a fair trade for such a neat game. Runescape, you get what, one free character? I don't know. It's been awhile since I played. Rappelz gives you five characters. I'm a supporter of Rappelz. It has an incredible likeness to WoW, questing and etc, but it has that addictingness that WoW didn't have. WoW was just to.....repetitive.
What are the hardware requirements for Rapelz? You can make as many Runescape characters as you want.

right now wow is celebrating valentines day. i still have my snowballs from christmas in my bank along with some halloween treats i got from trick-or-treating. the new years in game fireworks were awsome, i got so drunk off the free beer. i cant wait until the next beerfest (its a dwarf thing lol)

just because WoW is a better game doesnt mean that people who play it have no life. i play less than a hour a day.
Note, people on Runescape say everyone on WoW has no life, I didn't say I think. But I don't think I'll get it any time soon, I'm quite happy with nice and simple Runescape. However I'm definetly downloading Rappelz once we get a new computer.
oh and i forgot. if you have a friend that owns the game discs, you can borrow the discs from him/her. you dont need the discs to play the game. also i think you can download wow off their website (big download tho)

I've played both, and even without a membership Runescape owns WoW in my opinion. However if your a serious gamer (which I'm not) WoW might be more to your liking. runescape is less violent (family friendly), and is free (unless you want to get a membership, which I'll probobly do eventually), WoW is violent and costly, it's p to the individual. Oh yah, my people are Leauweag (lvl 35 mele miner) and Gwenwhyvara (mage who bums cash of off Leauweag)
OMG I need to update this, Gwen's no more, and Leauweag is lvl 71 member =]
how the heck is wow violent? and its only 15 bucks a month. thats a few cheeseburgers..

I heard an interesting story the other day that covered a study that was done about kids that play video games. It indicated that gaming doesn't actually interfere with kids social lives hardly at all. Most kids continue to have as active social lives as they did before video games became popular. While this might appear to be great news, the same study showed that the games do cut severely into most kid's homework and housework times...
I agree, mine and my friends' social lives are based mainly around video games, as nerdy as it sounds. Then again there are times when certain friends won't see daylight for a week and sit at the computer all day.
