Rust Removal

Hey guys I decided to do this today, as it's been in the back of my head for a while and I have some parts that need de-rusting on both lawnmower engines here..

I did it mostly like the instructable said, except I boiled down some baking soda as I don't have washing soda.

So far so good by the looks of things, you can't really see it in the pictures but there are bubbles starting to form on the rust! I really hope this works and maybe by the time my dad comes home from work it'll be de-rusted and he'll go HOLY SHIT. My sister watched me putting the bucket together and said she didn't like the looks of what I was doing... and she's in school to be a mechanic.... perhaps I taught her a handy tool she might need down the road!

UPDATE:

I figured out what was wrong, the charger was dead, that's why it wasn't really fizzing like it should have! I hooked a pc power supply up to it and it's working great!
