11:59pm Launch tonight - we're currently in the scheduled 9 minute countdown hold :)
That is only if you're on the Eastern Seaboard (most of you should be able to see something). 80% chance of acceptable weather conditions!

I was watching it via the NASA TV live stream, and I discovered about a 3-minute lag between the actual launch and the stream. Consequently, I read on NASA launch blog that the solid boosters had separated successfully at T+2min before the engines had even started.

Shuttle launch was scrubbed last night.... So look again tonight at 1:05 for a 1:10 launch :) 70% chance of favorable conditions :D
I planned to wake up and go outside to watch it, but then decided that I'd rather sleep. It's a good thing, as it was canceled. And canceled again tonight. I have a friend who was out there last night to see it, and then had to be at class at 7:00 today--she was pissed when it got canceled! Luckily, she went with her dad and he drove so she could sleep.

It's a pretty cool experience to see it right there :)

Indeed - a friend of mine too... Although he assembles modules for the space station at cape rather than going to class :p

Haha that's what I meant (not the last night launch in the history of time and space itself :P ).
You must be more optimistic about this country's commitment to space and science than I am. :-(

We need more cool commercially driven ventures... Cool like Sea Launch... Launching satellites on rockets from a vessel in the middle of the ocean near the equator... Now that's COOL.
