Just a little peek at what I've been working on. I;m hoping to have the helmet done by Monday then the Instructable up a week or so after that,

It is indeed for SCA combat, So I placed the bars at 7/8" intervals. I also learnt that bar grills are a lot trickier than they look.

I'm hoping for long electrical arcs between the antennae...
Maybe it's just me, but it looks like a helmet, however long electrical arks would be pretty cool.
Your right, it is a helmet. those big elevtrical looking things are actually the spring loaded temporary rivets that are holding the whole thing together.
electrical arks would be prety wicked though, but i suspect i'd zap my brain pretty good as well.
