Durn nabbit!! That's what happened to it, I thought I lost it...

wuts with the union jack on my piece of all american ingenuity?
Nov 17, 2008. 2:12 PMKitewife says:
Technically, it's only the union jack when flown from a naval vessel.

Actually, since the US space effort was very nearly coordinated by the navy, as, I think, was ours, there's probably a case for calling it a jack on a steampunk spacecraft...

Ahhh....
Nov 17, 2008. 2:23 PMKiteman says:
Er...

That was me posted that. It said Kiteman at the top of the page, and showed my avatar...

(This has happened before, when She Who Must Be Obeyed has been browsing the site in between my log-ins...)

But you two look so much alike ... except for the hair ;-)
Nov 19, 2008. 12:01 PMLithium Rain says:
There is quite a nice likeness, isn't there? >Breaks arm< :D
Nov 19, 2008. 12:11 PMKentsOkay says:
You are a cruel and violent person you are...
Nov 19, 2008. 12:24 PMLithium Rain says:
No, my arm. I'm breaking my arm patting myself on the back, because I made Kitewife's avatar.
Nov 19, 2008. 1:22 PMkelseymh says:
How nice! It does look good :-) Does it look as much like the real person as Kiteman's does of him? Bwa ha ha ha
Nov 19, 2008. 7:00 PMLithium Rain says:
Thank you. :-) Hmmm...I don't know, we've never seen a picture of Kitewife's face! This must change! Why, we've even seen Nos. 1 &2 sons!
Nov 19, 2008. 1:37 PMKiteman says:
She's a red-head, and female, but that's as far as similarities go - Adrian kindly made Kitewife's avatar from a previous incarnation of mine.
Nov 19, 2008. 2:12 PMNachoMahma says:
> red-head, and female . Most excellent combination.

You must be a Heinlein fan...
Nov 19, 2008. 5:08 PMNachoMahma says:
. Big fan of Heinlein's Deety Carter, et al, but always had a penchant for redheads. With black, blond, and brown running a close second. ;) . Casey would dance with the strawberry blonde ...

LOL - a family member used to serve in a pub dressed in drag, because they paid him nearly double to do so.

And if it doesn't work in outer space you could always turn it into a nifty popcorn popper. The gas hookup is already there. Just invert the glass dome for a serving bowl. Anyone doing steampunk small kitchen appliances?
Nov 17, 2008. 2:49 PMGoodhart says:
oh no, why would you want to keep popcorn under your hat? *chuckle*
Nov 18, 2008. 5:52 AMcaitlinsdad says:
To keep from running back and forth to the kitchen, snacks should always be filled to the brim.
Nov 18, 2008. 8:36 AMGoodhart says:
...and look ! No need for butter, the hat is already quite well greased from being worn eeewww
Nov 17, 2008. 12:10 PMTool Using Animal says:
As much as I like the Steampunk aesthetic, it's the working stuff that does it for me, the "props", not so much.
Nov 17, 2008. 2:48 PMGoodhart says:
Although that watch turned into a motorcycle was cool :-)
