I don't know if anyone else noticed, but sometime yesterday the ten thousandth Instructable was contributed to the site. Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to the site and helped create such a vibrant and growing community!
It's a lot, though - most members have well under a hundred projects. I have 70, so if they are all as prolific as me, that's only 200 active contributors.
However, it's probably nearer 10 times that number - maybe if any admin are passing, they could check the database to find out exactly how many people have posted projects on the site?
That's amazing, when you consider that most of the projects are actually rather good, and there are very few repeats.
There was some data on the blog (checks) - in the top 50 project posters last year, none had reached three digits in the number of 'ibles they created. Trebuchet03 was top with 72 (it must be higher now) (Reference)
the statistics for those lists are in some cases fairly misleading since they only include projects entered in 2007 (ie - not including stuff *before* 2007). in some cases you have to think a bit to understand what the data is really saying and what is omitted.
Sweet, the only problem is that as we grow that large it's going to be harder and harder to sort and store all this information, I wonder if that why the servers had trouble before?
