Trouble using In Line Signal Amplifier

I am trying to install an in line signal amplifier for my satellite, which I hope will increase the signal strength. However, when I finish installing the amplifier the signal is totally blocked. Dose anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

when no amp is used the dc blocker is placed where the cable enters the receiver (atleast that is the most common place) with amp maybe before the amp or before the receiver i dont think your hardware can be damaged if you power on without dc blocker. i'd just experiment placing it everywhere possible and try to use without amp and dc blocker at all and see what happens

Just a thought, but is the signal amplifier compatible with digital signals from your dish? I know splitters are rated with higher frequency range to split digital sat/cable TV signals. Maybe you just have a regular TV signal amp.

input and output swapped missing filter or filter installed in place where not needed (like those bandpass or dc-block things that screw inline with the wire) amp does not get power something not earthed properly
