Use for rulers

I have five wooden 12 inch ruler. I used them in a project and don't need them any more. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? I don't want to throw them away. That would be a waste of $2.00. L: 12" W:1" H:~1/4"

No one has mentioned two rulers side by side can add and subtract.

Change the scales to logarithm rulings and surprise !

Adding logs really multiplies but what divides ?

Great for teaching math and a lost art of sliderules which I used in my first two jobs..

Child discipline. I'm not saying you should beat your child, but a smack on the butt from a ruler gets the point across.

I use mine to......draw straight lines and measure short distances.... :-)
same here. we should make a " using applinaces and devices for their correct purpose" groupe.
Oh, I have used them for a myriad of other purposes too, it is just that these two were being ignored, so I thought I would mention them ;-)

There is a "single performance" trick one can do with showing that the weight of a single sheet of newspaper can help "break" a wooden ruler in two.

Good Idea. I'm trying to build a rubber band powered aircraft. Small scale.

Awesome, you'll have to let me know how that turns out. Perhaps an iBle?

Boomerangs!
UM, yeah remove the little metal "edge" first or someone is liable to lose fingers trying to catch it LOL

use them as bases for small projects make them into wooded serving forks! make a coin racing track with them(just roll a quarter or nickel, dime and pennies if your good at it down the ruler and it should roll for a good while if there are no obstructions, they will even roll right off a table and keep on rolling!)((if i see a coin rolling instructable im gonna be pissed) make a rubber band gun(again, if i see an instructable with a rubber band gun that uses a closepin for the trigger...) measure... handle idunno
Usually I just keep them somewhere in a desk, and whenever I need it, I'll use it again.
