I enjoy drawing landscapes and waterfalls like this, what do you think?

amazing!

I draw on walls. I know its "illegal" but would you want to stare at a blank wall or some sweet tag?

graffiti? Awesome!

Actually, I'd rather see a blank wall than a tag.
LoneWolf (author)  butterflycookies4 years ago
Unless it's a gigantic curse word or something like that, I don't mind graffiti at all, some people have a LOT of talent doing that.

Wow! Those look great, I like the first one the most! :-)

Thanks! Drawing cars is a hobby I do when I'm bored at school. That car you like is an early ford model t. All the other cars are my own concept designs.

I have to forum topics of my car drawings if you want to see some more.

These pictures are absolutely fantastic! Great thinking. Can these effects be given using photoshop?
I have no idea I downloaded the effects from the apple website here (I have a mac) and ran the installer and they installed in photobooth and ichat

Here is another of my drawings. This is silver felt tip on black paper, no rulers, even the circle is hand drawn.

VERY COOL. I wish my hand could be so steady :-)
My daughter said it looks like a cut glass paperweight. That must be the effect of using black paper. Thanks for looking. craftyv.

I mostly like to draw aliens, monsters, a real life like battle seen, dogs, cats, guns, halo related stuff, and weird things. :)
LoneWolf (author)  lil larry3 years ago
I also like to draw dogs
Cool!
LoneWolf (author)  lil larry3 years ago
Yeah, what type of dogs do you like?
I like German Sheperds, Beagles, Dachunds, Rechievers, and something collies.
LoneWolf (author)  lil larry3 years ago
Austrailan Border Collies maybe?

We have a Golden Retreiver right now named Brinkley, we used to have a Beagle named Molly... and we almost got a German Shepherd named Jerry =D
Wow! Lota of dogs. What else do you like to draw other than dogs? :D
LoneWolf (author)  lil larry3 years ago
Yeah, and I forgot to mention our first dog... a Greyhound named Talula lol

I also love to draw wolves (not that much different I know =D) and I also like to draw landscapes, and also just sorta random things.
Cool! I don't really draw a lot. I mean like I usually draw school stuff that's due and, of course, they turn out great, but not perfect. I draw when I'm bored or frustrated. :D
LoneWolf (author)  lil larry3 years ago
That's alright, I don't draw all the time either, sometimes I draw amost every day and other times I'll have whole months go by withought drawing a line.
Yep, same here.
craftyv3 years ago
Great Art everyone. When I draw lines I do it free hand , no rulers, because I like the hand drawn nature of my efforts. Here is a drawing I already showed in The Clinic. I hope you like it, it's black paper with a white fine line pen.

1: That's absolutely amazing!!!!

2: That looks a lot like a pattern for a chip carving, maybe I'll chip carve that into wood and show you what it looks like.
I don't know if any schools still do this in art class or not, but I remember in middle or high school doing a linoleum carving that appeared like this (only it wasn't quite as complex a pattern, but this reminds me of that).
LoneWolf (author)  Goodhart3 years ago
That's cool, though I haven't done it yet.
Thanks for the memory. We also did something called Scraperboard, where the top, black, surface was scraped off to the desired image. I'd completly forgotten about that.
Thanks a lot for your comment.
LoneWolf (author)  craftyv3 years ago
Your welcome =D
That is really cool. Looks a lot like a crystalline structure in nature.
Hisart craftyv3 years ago
Nice design, what size is it?
craftyv Hisart3 years ago
About 7" square. I actually just draw and add as I go along then I stop when it feels/looks right. Thanks.

I grew up drawing super heros. I've always been into RPGs so we were always drawing things for games. Then I started making my own games and I draw for them mostly now. Sadly I haven't been drawing as much as I used to.

I have been trying to learn to draw on a wacom tablet and I do ok, but I have to do my line art first and then color it in on the tablet. I can't seem to go 100% digital.
Damaged Rall 4 Color.jpg
Hisart EmmettO3 years ago
My digital art is done completely with a Wacom and all you need is practice. Don't tell yourself you can't do it, because you can. The Wacom is just a fancy pen/pencil that takes a little getting used to (Learning Curve). Keep practicing and you'll get it.

By the drawing you have posted here it shouldn't take you too long to catch on.
EmmettO Hisart3 years ago
Thanks for the encouragement! I'm still working on it and like you said there's a learning curve to it.

I just picked up a trick that's making a difference in my shading, using dodge and burn layers instead of just the tools. I didn't understand how those worked before and it makes a big difference. I picked it up from a how to on a blog.

One of the things I think I'd need to see is how people do the line art on a tablet. I mean actually watch how they go about using the tablet to make lines. Mine are way too shaky, I can't get the fidelity that I want. I'm thinking that watching someone may tip me off to what I'm doing wrong. I wonder if there is a youtube video somewhere?
Hisart EmmettO3 years ago
There are lots of "How to" videos on youtube about using a Wacom.

An educated guess would be that you are not working big enough. Set your page size to 8.5" x 11" and 300dpi then try a drawing. I usually try and work up to that size as I increase detail but by you starting at that size you'll be able to see if it's just the size that is bothering you.

Try it and let us know how it goes.
craftyv3 years ago
I have been drawing (doodling) for years and have kept most of my pics. They tend to be small, 2" square or circle and were all black and white originally but lately they became coloured and often up to 10 on an A4 page. Geometric shapes, convoluted lines and even simple patterns are prominant.
I have decided to show them to our Instructables community somehow. Perhaps as an Instructable, something like. [How to fill hours of your time and enjoy every minute] I actually draw in meetings, watching tv, on the phone etc. What do you draw?
LoneWolf (author)  craftyv3 years ago
Cool, good instructable name :)

I draw a lot of different things, wolves & dogs, and landscapes are my main subjects though.

i like to draw stick figures fighting.i dont know why.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
LoneWolf (author)  nfk113 years ago
lol, stick figures are about as close as I get to drawing people =D
Wow: drawing actual animals, I'm impressed. I cannot draw real things mine are all conceptual. I have tried but seem to be inhibited somehow. Thanks for the encouragement. Lonewolf.
For me, the following BOOK was what turned my grotesque sketches into things that others actually wanted to look at:

link to Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.
Goodhart: I knew it was you when I saw the book you referred (linked) to, it's a favourite in our family too. When you have a different brain than the "norm" it's good to try these types of methods and the most adapted AS are those who have tried many things. Thanks for reminding me.
As you know, it starts you out making a self portrait while looking in the mirror, and when you are finished with the book you get to do it again and see the tremendous improvements...I know I was amazed :-)

Craftyv, you "knew it was me" ? I am confused.
When I read your reply, before I knew who wrote it, I knew it was you. I just did.

I became interested in the idea of negative space, ie. drawing the space around something, rather than the actual object because my grandaughter is Dyslexic and it helped her if she "wrote" or drew the shapes because her mind couldn't interperate the letters. Who knows if it helped, as with all these things you try everything and keep the brain working on a different path. She is 24 and is a qualified pattisiere employed for 7 years by the same co. She makes beautiful decorated cakes and creates the designs and everything. Bye.
Another way to "see things" as they are, rather then how we "think they should look" is to turn the object up-side-down. Like a chair (or if you can't turn the physical object over, use a picture of it inverted).

It confuses the right left side because it is trying to make sense of something it's not seen before, and forces the right side to take over, after a bit of practice.
Exactly:

Thanks =)

I'm the same way with people, I've tried before and one person even tried to show me but I'm totally incapable of drawing them for some reason lol.

Your welcome :)

I draw just about anything, but choose to stay in the sci/fi & fantasy realms. I use just about every medium, although I can't seem to figure out how to draw with jello. Currently my top two favorites are pen & ink and my Wacom. Check out my website (profile) if you want to see some of the things I've done.
LoneWolf (author)  Hisart3 years ago
Haha, nothing like mastering the art of jello =D

Oh ya! I just can't figure out how to hold it. I tried duct-tape but it kept rolling out! LOL

I made my own comic strips based on true-life accounts when I was still in school. I create the characters and my friends love reading them and insist that I keep the story going! =)
