Where did you find this awesome cover?! lel

Call me a nerd, but I like the 'Information Society Live: It is Useless to Resist Us' cover and their 'Synthesizer' cover.

Rush - Moving Pictures has always been a fascinating cover for me...

Great albums. Thanks
Since I really only own Tom Petty and David Bowie records and they aren't very flashy, I'm going to go with my favorite record that would come into the used bookstore from time to time. :D

Love it.

that's scary as hell, looks like something out of village of the damned!
onrust (author)  jessyratfink5 years ago
Seriously...... I fell off my chair! We may have to start voting.
ilpug onrust5 years ago
This is just amazing... I think this needs some spoofing.
onrust (author)  jessyratfink5 years ago
Dang....There are almost 30,000 results for this song on youtube! I didn't mean to clown on this.......... but I do keep looking at the hair like a bad car accident
Hahaha, clown away. I especially like how two of them look dead on like teenage boys in drag. :D
onrust (author)  jessyratfink5 years ago
CONGRATULATIONS! This cover comes up as #4 on a Google image search for "funny album covers all times" :)
Hmmm all three could pass for boys in drag LOL
My own picture..

which is very perfect on cover photo.

Goodhart onrust5 years ago
I don't think "she" is saying that is a picture of her. At least, the profile says she's a she :-)
onrust (author)  Goodhart4 years ago
I was just clowning around....but is this an album....or a teen throb CD cover????
onrust (author)  onrust4 years ago
Of course it make no difference, I was just curious.
Goodhart onrust4 years ago
Well of course, I could be mistaken with the SHE designation too, since the Avatar is a stock photo of Evan Rachel Wood
Goodhart onrust4 years ago
Well, first the words on the shirt are "mirror image" so the picture IS being taken from a mirror; secondly a Google image search got me nothing on the picture as either an album cover or anywhere else on the web.
Goodhart5 years ago
Hmmm, not sure about this one either, especially since I am NOT a big Brittany Spears fan.....but here is a link to the cover.....
onrust (author)  Goodhart5 years ago
screw the link. thats awesome!
Thats disturbing
onrust (author)  monsterlego4 years ago
It's all about record sales.
First up is Frank Zappa's Overnight Sensation. (References to every song on the album - note the slime oozing out of the TV set)

After that, anything by Roger Dean in the Yes era. He has a couple books, I have two of them.
onrust (author)  AnubisAndIsis4 years ago
Joe's garage is simply bad ass and I have seen the "Album Cover Album". Great stuff and thanks

I still like the old ELP album covers:

onrust (author)  Goodhart6 years ago
Track 3 up there. Still..... you turn me on. MAN, is that a killer song!
Goodhart onrust6 years ago
Yes, one of Lake's love songs from the Brain Salad Surgery album:

Although I do like their adaptations of some classical works:  "Toccata",  "Fanfare for the Common Man" (used at the Olympics one year),

I did like their Works and Tarkus albums also  (Pictures at an Exhibition, is one of my favorite pieces).

We can no long embed a video here?

I always wanted to make a T-Shirt from Taj Mahal's "Mo' Roots" Album cover. Sort of reminds me of Santana's "Abraxas" album. Very 70's style.

onrust (author)  triumphman5 years ago
Good call! I never noticed the audience. So, its a reptile backstage & possibly peeping through the curtain? who is that iceng?
onrust (author)  iceng6 years ago
My dad had that Rust Never Sleeps. Every time I flipped through his albums I'd see that cover and wonder what that meant. Thanks for the post.
ilpug onrust5 years ago
Can't argue with Rust Never Sleeps. that is the coolest concert video... Freaking Jawas....
onrust (author) 5 years ago
I found these 2 on a google search. I guess they struck my fancy.
gmoon5 years ago
Maybe Carlos Santana's Abraxas, or Roxy Music's Country Life (any Roxy cover, actually)...

Let's throw in Zappa's Weasels Ripped my Flesh, too.
onrust (author)  gmoon5 years ago
Great picks man. This Roxi Music was one of my original pics but I only posted a link due to content......look what I found! lol
gmoon onrust5 years ago
Thanks--that edited Roxy cover might pique some curiosity ;-).

I miss real album covers. Practically, culturally, spiritually. And I miss Frank, too. (raising it up, waxing it down).
onrust (author)  gmoon5 years ago
OMFG.....I just stole back an old cd player from my boy and if there wasn't a copy of Strictly Commercial in it and my rechargeable batteries. Im on a hot rats and willy the pimp kick as of late.

ah yep :-) I thought it best to remove....pretty good for a quick use of paint, eh? :-)
ilpug Goodhart5 years ago
Oh no, you neutered the Nirvana baby!

I saw an interview with the grown up kid, he said "It's weird that so many people have seen me naked, I feel like some kinda porn star or something."
onrust (author)  ilpug5 years ago
so he should have no problem being a porn star.....?
ilpug onrust5 years ago
Probably not. I don't think too many people would have a problem with that.
onrust (author)  ilpug5 years ago
no, people would "tune in" for "it"......get it.....lol
ilpug onrust5 years ago

Yeah, they would.

i like Pink Floyds
Pink Floyds "wish you were here" is a pretty cool cover
(sorry, but posting an image on this computer takes half an hour!)
onrust (author)  AussieAnglerGal5 years ago
An epic classic! BUT......did u know there was 2? I found the second on google images....I had no clue. I assume you are referring to the men shaking hands and then I find the other set of hands. Was this the cover for the single? That is awesome & I thank you!
funny enough onrust, the album i own has both of those on it!
the front cover had the men shaking hands on it but the back had the other one on it, but just at the bottom..almost like a company logo
although my album is not just the single 'wish you were' here but also about four other songs so I'm not sure! perhaps the hands are the singles "image".......

or even perhaps one was the original album cover but they changed it after some time?..

i love circa survives' juturna and on letting go
good music and the best layout. whew!
onrust (author)  meetscottewart015 years ago
Now that's a pick! Thanks Scott. This means a lot to many people. Have you seen the tattoos on google images? This must be powerful stuff. "letting go"...... now that's a hard call!
I have so many album cover....

onrust (author)  Hisart6 years ago
Oh my! I even thought I was a fan. Never saw that. Love the swell and the foot on the frame....... AWESOME!
onrust (author)  onrust6 years ago
THEN, I looked it up and dug the hell out of each head of Mr. Anderson. Now I wonder what the script around the border says....... SERIOUSLY
Hisart onrust6 years ago

The four heads are the band members.

Here is a larger version you can see and it was released April 10, 1982.

The script is runic symbols are from the Cirth rune system used by J.R.R. Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings . They are the opening lyrics to Broadsword :

I see a dark sail on the horizon, set under a black cloud that hides the sun. Bring me my broadsword and clear understanding. Bring me my cross of gold as a talisman.

The cover of Holy Diver by Dio is my number one, Although Ten Thousand Fists by Disturbed is up there.
hey do i see me in there?
It is possible. There is a guy who looks a lot like me in there, I should go look at the poster and find him again.
onrust (author)  ilpug6 years ago
Great covers. Thanks for adding them.
ilpug onrust6 years ago
I could easily think of many more, but those are the top two so far. Iron Maiden's a matter of life and death is pretty amazing though.

Goodhart onrust6 years ago
a progressive band, Emerson being the "classical" oriented one of the group.
onrust (author) 6 years ago
I have to add another. I even had to ask my Mum who this was. All I remember is, this cat put all the instruments he could play in front of his tour bus...... and shot his album cover.
onrust (author) 6 years ago
Supertramp, Breakfast In America take second for me. Due to the fact that my very life was threatened for playing it, or any of my Pop's LPs, it holds 2nd strictly for personal reasons. The inside cover is cool as well.
onrust (author) 6 years ago
Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power takes a strong 3rd. The fact that I don't even like Pantera, is no matter at all. This cat was a serious Pantera fan who took a staggering (quite literally) amount of blows to the head for this photo.
