Which is the better picture to use for a title image?

I have a new instructable in the works after a long hiatus :) I have some options for the title image for my next instructable and I don't know which one to choose.

So picture 1 (jar with green napkin), picture 2 (jar with wooden background), picture 3 (close up), or picture 4 (jar with green background)?

I liked the second picture - the lemons give the hint that it is lemon curd rather than banana or vanilla-flavored, and I also like the warmth of wood.

How about re-shooting picture 2 from a lower angle, so that you're looking more through the side of the jar, say at an angle of about 45 degrees?

I actually did do that but didn't post it. I thought that the rim overtook the picture when taken lilt that. I'll reconsider it though.

From the side is "more realistic" - most people will end up looking *at* the jar on a shelf, rather than down *on* the jar.

That's true :) I was going for a more artsy approach but realistic would work too. What do you think of green or blue as complementary colors in a retake?

The green looks good.

Thanks for the help Kiteman (as always)!

Would a compromise work? Lowering the angle of the camera but not necessarily straight in from the side? More like at a 40-45 o angle?

I prefer the second picture.
Tilt doesn't matter to me.
But...
Maybe a third contrasting color under the wooden tray?
Although I DEPLORE the color, I'm thinking "Bright Red"?

Hmm red would be a good color...

I also like the second, the woody grain seems to raise my expectation of
gourmet food pleasure more then the others. This is the one I would place a utensil into, though I know not why :-\)

Hahaha thanks for the insight!

I like the second, that looks so tasty.
