Why wasn't my Homemade Mallet accepted to the "Hand-Tools Contest"?

Why was my Homemade Mallet Instructable rejected from the Hand-Tools Contest?

I used "Hand-Tools" to make a "Hand-Tool"... Why could fit the contest better than that?

I uploaded and clicked on the enter 3 hours before the contest ended, Didn't get accepted, And now the contest has already closed...

I've attached a screenshot below

Now that I think of it, I guess that it's because I used a Microwave and a Refrigerator...?

Why was the picture that I uploaded so blurry? This is a screenshot...

Image is a preview, if you want full size let it open in a new tab ;)

Another option could be to make a contest that is "Make Your Own Hand-Tools", That would solve this problem!

Your concluding thought is correct.

For the Hand Tools Only contest, per the description of the contest you could only use tools that you hold in your hands to operate.

There were two exceptions: a work table and vise were were not considered tools for the purpose of this contest, since these are almost absolutely necessary when using most handheld tools. The use of ovens, refrigerators, computers, and any other large stationary tool, however, were things that made a project ineligible for this contest.

(For future reference, questions about contest entries are always better sent directly to the service@instructables.com email, rather than posted as forum topics. We'll always see them quicker that way and respond as promptly as possible.)

Cheers! ; )

I see, Thank you for your reply :)

I don't use Arduino, But that makes me wonder: That means that any Arduino project isn't eligible because it requires a computer for the coding, Right?

Anyway, It's good to have this forum topic here for future Hand-Tool Contests :)

You are correct.

This is always a tricky contest, and a few projects may have been allowed in that are skirting the eligibility requirements. When we put together the list of finalists, we will be watching carefully to weed out anything that does not fully comply with the contest requirements.

I don't think a computer counts as a tool.

It isn't a tool, And it isn't not a tool, So don't think it should be allowed...

On the other hand, You might want to plan out your project (Woodworking, For example) on Sketchup (Those kinds of softwares...) before the project, To not make any mistakes...

I would think that for coding=No, But for planning=Yes... Dufficult decision :)
