Window A/C Making Bubbling Noise
We just got window air units for our house. Mine appears to work fine, yet it's making a strange bubbling/gurgling noise. It is tipped and draining.
Any idea fellas?

Hooked it back up for the heat that's coming. Still bubbling ,but I'm still alive. Stepdad still demands we return it first thing tomorrow. Yeah... not.

I woke up at 2:30 today and my stepdad came home and went apeshit because I "didn't shut all of the air conditioners off". After that I did, and they've been off since.

The unit in my brother's room is not making this noise, and it is identical. All I'm hearing is a constant bubbling noise, it is quite loud, a bit relaxing but too loud. The people in my household demand I take it back, but after the work I did to get it in there I refuse to. I really don't think it's anything major, I was just curious as to what you all thought it could be and if I was in any danger :-)

. I'd double-check the mounting. Make sure the frame is square and that it's not exactly level (so water can drain).

. I think trebuchet03 is right, bubbling/gurgling/hissing/etc usually come from the exp vlv. Might be refrigerant boiling when the unit turns off. . Most newer units use the condenser fan blades to sling water on the condenser coil. Sounds pretty much like you'd expect it to.
