Instructables

Would someone make an Instructable for a manly workshop apron?

I would like to know if any of our sewing experts can design a masculine apron for workshop use that could fit a large man with a 48 inch waist (121.92 cm).  It should be made with a strong fabric and a few pockets to store small parts. Your help is greatly appreciated since I have no experience sewing (although I have a sewing machine ready for use).

Are you still looking for an apron? Do you want a bib on it or not?

I am too old for a bib unless I am eating barbecue ribs, then I need one! Just kidding, yes I would like to have someone design an apron. I guess with a bib my shirt will be protected from dirt or stains.

I'll see what I can come up with. I've made several in the past and love using denim. Of course I didn't even know about Instructables then.

I would love to see your Instructable for the apron. I will replicate your instructions at home to make my apron. Thank you very much for your help.
You mean like this?

That one looked good but I would like to have all the pockets at the bottom and maybe made with a denim or jeans fabric. The strip around the neck does not have to be adjustable but the strip or belt around the waist should be adjustable for comfort.
Nae, nothing manlier than this, ...well, this trumps it.

He, he, he! You know, real men do not wear underwear under their kilt. :)
I believe it should be "sewing" although carrying around a big saw in your pocket is asking for trouble.

How about getting a big belt and then you can cut apart some old blue jeans from the waistband to around the back pockets. You can then thread them on your belt as small tool pouches. From there you can figure out how to sew your own custom pouches or apron depending on what you need from the rest of the fabric from that pair of cut up jeans. I recommend a set of suspenders too. Irkel knew best that they hold things up.
Check the national origin of the OP before suggesting suspenders. The US and Uk view is somewhat different.....
ah, but braces here across the pond refer to dental appliances
Also in the UK.

Aye! Thank you for the correction my dear lad! That sounds like a good idea. Go Aberdeen!
Nothing is worn under the kilt......

......its all in perfect working order........
Not that one needs to check...but hey, if it's a snakebite, I'm afraid you're gonna...
