XXX?
Hey, I've been sober for over a year edge for 6 months or so. I'm typically Posi most of the time but not all the time haha.
Realized there wasn't a thread on this so I started one. Just wondering how many people on this site are Straight Edge? Posi or otherwise.
Feel free to question me or argue about it with me.

Through my experience its the up tight christian kids who tend to have a problem with straight edge, they don't see that polluting your head is bad just because its stupid, they have their whole "treat your body like a temple for god" thing. For the most part if people want to do drugs that's fine, I personally support the legalization of marijuana, it takes a lot of money out of the hands of smugglers and dealers, even though I would never use it, if people want to its fine by me.
Anyways the movement was started to offer kids who didn't think drinking a drugs were cool a group to relate to, not to spread some christian agenda.

i think the problem with (most) straight edge folk that i know is that they DO end up treating it like a religion, and they end up getting REALLY preachy about it.
i don't know of any specific "pro drinking/drugs" groups that are organized, so i've never seen much of a purpose to straight edge as a conhesive group.....if you don't want to drink, don't drink. if you want to hang out with people who don't drink, well that's pretty easy to do as well.

I myself choose to walk the Razor's Edge, and have a hell of a good time while I'm at it :D
Not for me, though I don't mind people making that lifestyle choice as long as they don't press it upon me. I have a great dislike of the groups of Christian based idealists appearing in teens, some of them are genuinely unhealthy.

But to the topic at hand no I'm not straight edge. I love my evening beer and hanging in the bar drinking with my friends to much for that.
But I support everyone who wants to be straight edge. except for this guy a friend of mine always brings alone. He's the bad type of straight edge. The one that starts telling you that you have to stop drinking beer because it is unhealthy and how he is much smarter and blablablabla.... That really irritates me, everyone should do what they want as long as they don't hurt another. So let me have my beer damned! I actually told him that once but he said beer was clouding my judgement....

Haha, but yes XXX is the symbol for straight edge. I figured it would get more hits just because of the name haha.\ Yeah nobody likes an a-hole, or being told how to live. If his biggest concern is guys sipping beers then he needs to look at the bigger picture. I'm not saying a approve of your lifestyle, I just don't force my lifestyle onto others, I have friends that still drink and smoke, the most you can do is show them how much more fun you can have sober.
