cutting in circuit board?

I have this circuit board which I pulled from an iPhone dock. When I look at the bottom, it seems obvious where the wires and connections are running. Does this mean that the area marked in the photo below is fair play for cutting and removing without effecting the functionality of the circuit board? The project I'm working on would greatly benefit from being able to remove a small part of the plastic.

. You may run into problems if it's a multi-layer board.

true, but I'm almost certain it's not, if I hold it up to the light, it shines straight through the blank surface, so there seems to be no evidence that any wires are running through that area.
. Sounds promising. Keep us posted.

ok so I cut the board using a regular cutting knife. Everything still works as it should, so it would seem there is no hazard involved in cutting that part of the circuit board :) Thanks everyone for the comments and help

what about the other side?

ah yea sorry. The other side looks like this. apart from some printed text, there doesn't seem to be running any wires.

since there are no other wires, cut all you want, just make sure you do it carefully, don't try to cut it with wire cutters, it will crack the board

That's what I was hoping for :) Thanks for the advice
