hydrospan - Expanding Urethane Foam - what could you do with this?

A casting foam that expands 60% when soaked in water. What could you do with that?

Any creative ideas?

Make a mold of your foot, cast it, and you have great "bigfoot" foot to make your own hairy beast tracks!

. A water sensing switch for a basement. Expanding foam actuates a switch.
that is if there was one that acted faster...

Hehe, I've got a few. But, does it despand (opposite of expand) if the water evaporates?

Yes, slowly. It also expands rather slowly (10-14 days for every 2 inches of thickness). The idea is that it's an inexpensive (if not quick) way to enlarge 3d objects.

. "despand" = contract
it would be cool to make a cast of a beetle and scare the crap out of your kids with a giant roach in the bathroom..snigger snigger
you don't mean, dropping it into their bath water so it "grows before their eyes" ? LOL

Could be used to displace water getting into places it shouldn't?
