iPad, worth the buy?

The iPad has came out quite recently, and ever since I have been thinking about getting one. I'd heard a lot of good things about it, but then again, I have also heard some bad things, so I'm not so sure what to do now.

I would like some of your opinions on if you think if it is worth buying, or maybe if I should wait for a newer version to come out.

Please, actually give me some reasonable answers, not something like "Oh, you shouldn't buy one because it's dumb..." or the sort. If you own an iPad, could you tell me if it has been useful for you and in what way?

I would not buy one.  Here's some reasons why:

- It's around the same dimensions as a tablet PC, other Tablet PC's can do stuff the iPad can never do
- No camera like the iPhone
- No multitasking
- Freaking pricy.
- If you plan to use it as an eReader, the weight of it can really hamper your reading experience
- The weight will also hamper your gaming experience
- Doesn't fit in a pocket
- No built-in physical keyboard.

I'd just get a regular iPhone instead.

.  Nacho's Rules Of Computing - #24: Never buy version 1.0 of anything. You're just a beta tester for version 1.7.

That's what a lot of people say. Just the thing is, when will a better version even come out?

By the way, thanks for answering so quickly.
.  Is there any feature the iPad has that you just have to have (and are willing to pay a considerable premium for)? If so, you are probably what is known as an "early adopter" and Rule #24 doesn't apply - go for it. Otherwise, wait until the bugs are worked out.

Well, partly so. I like the idea of it having a touch screen and being lightweight, but I don't want an iTouch because the screen is just too small.
.  Sounds to me like you're looking for someone to tell you that it's a good idea. If you want one, get one.
Preach on, brother!
