Very rough estimation, it looks like you need more than 1,000 tennis balls. They are easily "sewn" or corded together by punching the balls with an awl and a big needle(just tape the paracord to the end of a piece of looped coat hanger wire to pass through the hole. They might need some stiffening with wire if it doesn't hold its tubular shape when sewn together though.
The wire on the inside would make going through the tunnel on your knees pretty painfull and even dangerous if it gets a lot of wear and tear. Possibly unravelling and poking through.
Why the tennis balls? Unless there is a specific reason that we are unaware of, I would think, (IMHO) some other material would be better.

Off topic: I once sewed sea grass squares together, with raffia, to make a large mat. Believe me it was fine in small doses but to do the lot left me with a severe back- ache and very sore, split fingers. Oh well, It seemed like a good idea at the time.I hope this works for you.

thank you very much, this information is very useful. i will build it and hope it comes out right.

dora,
If you can't find that many balls, make segments of the tube from some nylon tent fabric or tarp. Just make a few hoops with tennis balls and connect them with fabric. Please be sure to take pictures of the build so you can put up an instructable. Good luck.
