No, I didn't renew the provisional patent. I didn't know you could do that. But, I figure if I can't generate any interest in an idea within one year, then it's not worth patenting, at least in most cases. I only made that one as a mock-up because it is actually an offshoot of a military one that I wrote up in full, which is an integrated IR imaging scope. I was going to use a paintball gun for a proof of concept. The invention is for letting a soldier under fire quickly turn and waive their gun at someone, and the gun will fire a burst at the precise moment when the target is going to be under boresight. The army was actually interested and I was put on the list for potential funding, but there is no money to fund anything because of the war, which is the problem (the war) I wanted to address with the invention. I know the invention works because I tested it many years ago with a helicopter targeting system

Sorry... Just realised you posted back... well you might want to keep it all hush till this war is done.... Because I would like to see it get some funding... I recall a unit which had a scope that could pivot to a right angle via internal mirrors, so the soldier could be behind a wall and shoot without exposing themselves... Always thought that was a could idea but hard to aim etc. Your LCD display targeting sys would greatly improve that idea of shooting under cover... I hope you revisit the idea in the near future..
