what can i do with this?

i have a chip off of a mother board here and i was wondering wht can i use it for. it is an award (company name) 1998 pci/pnp 686 216816591

check if the model is the same after you remove the sticker
Glue it to a stick and use it for scratching your back.
Plant it so a chip tree grows!

i would but i dont think it works like tht. and ancho u are right. can i use it for nething beside bioses
Often there will be a quartz window under the sticker. You'll need to expose it to UV light to erase it, and then you can program new information into it. Right now it has code, but it can hold any data - even a JPEG.
Sure it does! You just have to get your climates exactly right.

If the label is a sticker, there's a good chance that your BIOS chip is an erasable PROM (Programable Read Only Memory). Removing the label should give you the manufacturer's data for locating info on the chip.
