I have a question, if I enter, say, something blue right now, will I be eligible for a prize, or only if it is ultraviolet do I have a chance at this point?
I appreciate the conversation on which way to choose to post the ibles because I am iffy about that still too being a newbie.
In this contest, the items photographed need to be made by us or the photograph needs to be photographed by us, does it count if we, for instance, grew an item? If it is an item we make that is the "only" thing that qualifies then do they need to have ibles with the entry to qualify also or just one photo of the finished product and is it ok for it not be posted anywhere on the site as an ible? Do the photos and /or projects need to be made within the week of the posted color? Sorry for the dumb questions, but want to make sure I understand it better. I am new and have lots of things I have made and then I have photographs of cool things I didn't make, but I did take the photos and want to see if those are counted since I did take the photos, so they are not stock photos right? And is it OK to edit them a bit?
You need to make the item and take a picture of it as well as explain how you made it. Think creatively about your entries and what would really wow other visitors that are ultimately going to vote on your Instructable.
Was flicking through instructables this morning and "jeff-o"s rainbow tile bathroom instructable is like having a wild card for this contest. Any week he can't come up with a color related project he can just snap a couple pics of his bathroom! :)
What I really need is a wide angle lens and a flash for my camera. That bathroom is too small to photograph as you'd see it with your own eyes! I had a real tough time getting the angle and colours right.
Of course, but is it constructing black lights or using sunlight or the effects of ultraviolet light such as a sunburn or fluorescence or...? It's easy to understand the rest, but ultraviolet kinda sticks out as a "I'm not sure what you mean" situation. I thought it might even be the super, magical, all the colors of the rainbow sort of deal.
To clarify, you can build your own ultraviolet light and show us what it does or you can use an ultraviolet light to illuminate something and take an awesome picture of an item you made. Sky's the limit!
I have something I'd like to submit to this that's blacklight reactive... That's ok? I can just photograph it illuminated and that will qualify it for UV week?
Just finished my green ible, publish it later. Accidental entry to this contest since I was planning to join the LED contest instead. Good luck to all! :)
So can we jump ahead and enter something for an upcoming colour (not that I have anything ready) or not? Someone said we could enter previous colours but not those that are yet to come, yet there is one entry that does not have any red or orange in it and so i thought it may have been entered for an upcoming colour.
Is there any way I could get a hold of whoever is moderating the entries? When I submitted an instructable I wasn't able to check a box for this contest, it just wasn't listed. Maybe the list was too long, or I'm not able to submit the same instructable to multiple contests, not sure. Would just like to see what I can do though.
I was wondering if anyone else entered the contest and had it removed. I drew an image on a drawing tablet, used a computer program and colored in using various layers and used the final image as my instruct able. Sounds like it fits the guidelines but I guess I am wrong?
I want to see one.. because I think I'm confused..
