It's time for the 2013 Furniture Contest! Most people have a good idea of what constitutes a piece of furniture, but just to be clear - any photo, video, or step by step Instructable that features a built item that keeps something off the floor is eligible. A few examples of types of furniture include tables, chairs, stools, benches, shelves, ottomans, couches, beds and shelving units.

But wait - there’s more! Instructables showcasing furnishings are also eligible in this years contest. That means lamps and lighting, throw pillows, plants and planters, wall art and the other physical objects that furnish a home and make up your decor should also be submitted. Don't think it's quite right that a dinosaur couch cushion should go head to head in contest battle with a bent plywood bookshelf? Neither do we and that's why we've included a special Judges’ Prize specifically for furnishings!

Submit your best furniture and furnishings and be eligible to win a Carveright Desktop Woodworking CNC Machine, a Makita Lithium Ion Drill and Driver Kit, a Leatherman Multitool, or Heavy Duty Janome Sewing Machine - all of which will help you keep making awesome things.

Multiple entries are accepted, but each entrant can only win one prize. Contest is open to entries from US, Canada [excluding Quebec], UK, China, Belgium, the Netherlands, Australia,  Colombia, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, India, and Denmark. Contest closes for entries at 11:59pm PT, March 4, 2013.

The winner(s) will be solely responsible for complying with any and all applicable statutes, laws (including, without limitation, common law, if applicable), rules and regulations and for bearing any personal income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, customs duties, or other taxes, fees, insurance, surcharges or other costs relating to receiving, claiming or collecting any prize.
