hi everbody.
i just take t-shirt and patches, but what about makerbots :) it didn't come to me :/
is there any information about this?
Aug 24, 2011. 10:00 PMDerekMellott says:
I have sent a message to Makerbot asking for more info on when we can expect delivery. I will let you know what the response is.
Aug 25, 2011. 10:21 AMDerekMellott says:
I've been told by makerbot that there was a delay due to some aspect of the co sponsor arangment that has now been settled and we should be getting an email with shipping details soon.

thanks for information dude.

I received my t-shirt and patches OK but I have not reseived my Thing a matic yet
I understand there is a lead time for shipping, but it has been almost two months.
I have not been able to contact anyone at Instructables for information. I don't know when to expect it ,or maybe it has shipped and went to the wrong address. Any help or info would be appreciated
Thanks
mickydee

I am still waiting on mine, too! Hopefully it won't be too terribly obsolete by the time it comes in the mail..  :P
Aug 8, 2011. 6:16 PMDerekMellott says:
I do find it a little worrisome that these are not being shipped out. Does anyone know who is supposed to ship them? Has anyone sent any emails? I don't want to seem demanding or ungratful but it would be nice to know what his going on.
Aug 8, 2011. 8:12 PMsponges says:
I can only assume they are being shipped directly from MakerBot. Further, the published lead time for a thing-o-matic jumped from 4 to 6 weeks. I gather the kits are in very high demand and MakerBot is pumping them out as fast as they can.

And since Instructables works with sponsors on these contests, the lack of communication on their part is understandable, as well. It would be nice if there was a contest liaison, or something, given that constests are the driving force behind Instructables.

In short, we'd probably be waiting as long (or longer) if we had purchased the kits directly. Oh well.

By golly that is why instructables is hands down an amazing website and community! Congrats again to all the winners!

I am so exited I can hardly contain myself. One of my 14 grand children works for a 3D printer company. He told me that they have several of your machines working all the time. He is going to take me on a tour and show me just what this machine will do. I look forward to submitting instructables as soon as I can.
Thank you for a wonderful challenge

Has anybody received their Thing-O-Matic kit prizes yet?
Jun 21, 2011. 6:00 PMDerekMellott says:
I got an email saying my first prize shipped a few weeks ago, not sure if that is the makerbot or the t-shirt or both. Either way there is a postal strike in Canada so who knows when I'll get anything.
Jun 6, 2011. 9:16 AMTechnochicken says:
My second prize came today, but the package was partially ripped and there was no leatherman in it, just the shirt, stickers, and patch. Where the leathermans shipped separately from the prize packs?

Never mind, my question answered itself. Thanks for the awesome prizes, Instructables!

And I thought my Stormtrooper armor upgrade would have stood a chance. I wonder what I did wrong. I really need one of thoses makerbots, wonder how much it is just to out and out buy one.
May 12, 2011. 9:00 PMMRHint says:
A thing-o-matic is about $1300 but the cupcake is about $700 at www.makerbot.com. Your stormtrooper armor upgrade was awesome! you should sell a similar thing for hunters...maybe without the night vision....

What's a makerbot?
May 8, 2011. 8:14 PMpoofrabbit says:
It's a printer that creates things 3-D in plastic. They are really sweet.
May 9, 2011. 8:29 AMharizard says:
Your right, I think the printer is very sweet. I went to the website to check out this printer. I think it is incredible, there are so many things that each any every instructable person can do with this machine. I myself, my mind when to making stands, putting statues in eggs etc....the creations could be endless. I just want people to go to the website and check out the video.
May 9, 2011. 2:19 PMpoofrabbit says:
Yep, I must admit before this contest I had never heard of such a thing. I had no idea I needed on.....I SO need one!! LOL
May 9, 2011. 2:42 PMpoofrabbit says:
needed one that is not on....oh dear typos. :) I agree with harizard people should go check out the videos on the companies site. It's amazing what they do!

Hopefully we know the finalist by the end of tomorrow!!! Good luck everyone!!!
May 2, 2011. 7:48 PMnevets_mcd says:
Wow I sure missed some great projects when they were entered. I encurage everyone to go back through the entries and check out as many as you can. There is some really neat stuff here.

Remember you can vote for lots of entries. If you are only voting for one or two items you are really doing a disservice to all of the other good entries.

Please vote for me in the contest, With a makerbot 3d printer I could make this better along with my other instructables in 3d plastic . It wont only be for myself though, I am making sure that my school could also use it. My school is a small middle school that it's education is surrounded around science and technology. Next year my class is going to split up into teams and each will make something solar powered , This would be a great thing to use considering that it will be powered using free energy, and it will make something fun and cool at the end.

May 5, 2011. 11:48 PMzack247 says:
im not going to say that you have to vote for my instructables, but if you think they should have a shot then go ahead, i know there are some pretty awesome instructables here and no one should feel discouraged if theirs might not win this contest, there are many more contests to come, so if you didnt win this one, enter all of the future contests you can, you will never have a chance if you dont enter, and dont shun off your ideas because they didnt help you win this contest, in my opinion i think that the voting stage decides more on what the people viewing the instructables are interested in more so than which ones are best, for example, i might not be interested about cakes or food, but something electronic.
im not saying blame the people of instructables either, we are all hard working people and just because your entry might not have won it doesnt mean you work any less than anyone else here.

but feel free to vote for my instructable.

if you dont, i wont think any less of the instructables community, its a learning place and i cant get enough of it here!

Just wait a while, as long as it was submitted before the deadline, and conforms to the rules, it will show up in the contest. They usually can take up to 48 hours (but sometimes longer) to get fully published and approved.
