Radio Restorersrss
I love the look of old Bakelite and timber framed radios, wireless receivers and the like. I also appreciate the craftsmanship in the design, construction and appearances of the older valve radios. I mainly just like their look, size, ease of handling and simple functioning - with on/off, tuning and volume - with nice big knobs. I also like to listen to "speaker tracks". What started this interest off, was after having built a small, portable and plenty loud enough audio amplfier - to pulg my MP3 player into, it occured to me that wouldn't it be a whole heap better to insert all of this into a rather spanking NICE new purpose built little cabinet, This way it would be rain and dust resistant and the internals would be protected from knocks and the rare drop - and I could fit a small carry handle onto it. Since I really like these devices as a species, and restoring or replicating them requires a whole host of technical skills - I thought well why not start an Instructables group so people can share in this marvelous adventure called life.
