Wow, great job. It would be neat to have a two-tone bowtie so it is easier to see it spin as compared to a black spinny circle of death.

Good idea, I've done some with patterns (Paisley's, Scotch Plaid, etc) and they seem to turn into a blurry circle all the same. I've had my eye on a two-tone black and white bowtie, but I'm frankly too cheap to blow $15 on the bowtie if it doesn't have any appreciable addition to the coolness factor (assuming spinning bowties have any coolness factor to start with).

Yeah I understand that... even better than two tone... ...LED's

I actually took a bunch of LEDs from my friend's wedding table decoration/centerpiece. The only problem is getting power to them (I'm thinking watch batteries) without the power supply being too heavy to mess up the smooth spin.

Could you have the positive and negative wires loosely dragging across a metal plate? You could then finish the circuit through the plate. I'm not sure if it would short out or not...

A metal plate wouldn't work, but metal rings would. That's how they make those detanglers for non-cordless phones.

I know it would short out the motor if both wires touched the same metal plate, but I'm not sure about LEDs. I guess I have something to try next time!

Wow, nice job. Hmm, I could reuse the parts from my "electric" eraser (failed). That is, except for the eraser and the bowtie.

it would be awsome if you also added like a pump or something so it could shoot water

I made one in my freshman year at high-school out of parts in my room, it was very simmilar to yours. However I ran a wire from under the shirt and into a pant pocket with a switch to reverse polarity and make the bowtie spin both ways. I sold it that same day to a kid, he walked up to me and offered 30$ I spent nothing so I was quite happy with the transaction.

I was considering doing the handheld switch thing, maybe on version 2 I'll try that. Thanks!
