Introduction: [DIY] Bookend Out of a Slim Cd-case

I just got a new shelf, and the problem occured that all my books, DVD's and CD's I want to put in it fall down.
The solution? Of course a bookend, but I haven't any money for this kind of stuff so I decided to build my own.

I know that it is possible to make some more stabil versions out of metal or wood but the only thing I got at the moment were a lot of cd-cases.

Step 1: Gather Materials

For my bookend you only need three things:
an slim cd-case doesn't matter if it's transparent or black or whatever. I got 100 clear cases for 9,99€.

Some strong glue, I prefer cyanoacrylate, this glue goes to be hard out if it comes in contact with the water in the air. I got 3 gramm tubes for 0,25€ at a local store.

Something to hold the case in a determined position, I used an 3rd hand that you normally use for soldering. (look in step 3 for the matter).

Optionally:
A geometric triangle

Step 2: Bend Over

Now you have to bend the "cover" of the CD-case that it looks like in the picture below.

Step 3: Fix It

arrange it in the desired angle into your holder or whatever, normally the angle should be 90 degrees, (you can use a geometry triangle if you want to be sure about the angle).

Step 4: Glueing

now you attach glue to the two things that keeps the cover on the rest of the case. <--(worst formulation)

Step 5: Let It Dry

Now just let the whole thing dry, it will take some time (even if the package says glues in seconds).
I just let it dry about night.

Step 6: Cut Off the Edges

After drying you can clip off the overstanding edges, that makes it a little bit smaller

Step 7: Put Everything on It and Protect Your Stuff From Falling Apart

Put your stuff on the cover side and put it into your shelf or whatever.

Don't stress it to much the cover will bend a little but than break.
