All gone...
<p>Hi,</p><p>it says all gone...</p><p>what was the script tho?</p>
if you just want it to open once type this<br><br>Set oWMP = CreateObject(&quot;WMPlayer.OCX.7&quot; ) <br>Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection <br><br>if colCDROMs.Count &gt;= 1 then <br>For i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count - 1 <br>colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject <br>Next ' cdrom <br>End If <br><br><br>bye bye
Nice Ible. <br /> <br /> For those that are interested. You can save the .vbs file to a USB&nbsp;Key, run it from the key and then remove the key from the computer. The drive will continue to open on it's own until you kill the wscript task. <br />
this DAM THING DON;T WORK, but its really interesting!
good idea, but can someone tell me how to make it turn on every time i press space?
Good idea... And maybe you could attach it to an autorun script so all you need to do is insert the key, wait a few seconds, and then take it out.
Lol it's processes, not programs... took me bout 15 mins to turn it off HA!
Hint: to cause maximum frustration with computer, place in hidden folder in startup folder
what if you have 2/3 cd drives???????<br />
it looks very interesting, but it doesn't work. WHY? I do everything the Instructable says but it just won't work. i copy the text and paste it on the text document, save it in my documents and named cdrom.vbs and it still won't work.
you need to save it as (something).vbs
I did that, still won't work??? I am a bad programer! :(
do u type do???
Perhaps you should change it to this, so you don't have a delay:<br/><br/>do <br/><br/>Set oWMP = CreateObject(&quot;WMPlayer.OCX.7&quot; ) <br/>Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection <br/><br/>if colCDROMs.Count &gt;= 1 then <br/>For i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count - 1<br/>colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject <br/>Next ' cdrom <br/>End If <br/><br/>loop<br/><br/>Look out your finger may be bashed of xD<br/>
it's the same as the code in the instructable
arr it wont stop run away how do i kill it tell me plz.!!!arr befor its to late!!!
might be able to use killtask from cmd, or something like that...
Is it possible to modify this code so that it will just make the CD drive open and close like crazy until you terminate wscript process?
I tried it out and a screen popped up saying that windows can't open the file because it doesn't know what created it, why does it do this?
Most likely you don't have visual basic installed, it could also be that your windows is not set to open this filetype as a visual basic program. I don't recommend you get VB since it spawns viruses.
Visual Basic does not spawn viruses. Visual Basic is a great program and everyone who is interested in this sort of stuff should use it. And no, I'm not a VB advertiser!
You're right, VB does not "spawn viruses". I find though that it does allow for the easy creation of very destructive programs with far to many possibilitys. The close integration between VB, Outlook and Windows explorer is a safety-issue of such proportions that I do not allow them on any of my computers and do not install them on my friends computers. The result is that although VB-programming is a closed book to me I have not suffered any virus-attacks since the 90's.
CoOoOoOoOoL i did it in the school , our teacher gathered his tools and quit ,
can you just make it eject once?
When running, an error pops up identifying character 1 of the ninth line code 8fff0101. the trays do open though.
ya i got the same problem.... maybe its vista?
nope, im in xp still.
XP ROCKS!!! Ok, I'm done now.
I'm not done. MICROSOFT!!! WHOOOOOOO! YEAH! Now I'm done.
well nice job meeze <br/>people getting different errors ok i think u dont mind if i help a bit <br/><br/>the error is (so far i think by reading comments) u use loop on drives if anyone have virtual drives or somthing like that it will print error<br/><br/>try that one<br/>do<br/>Set oWMP = CreateObject(&quot;WMPlayer.OCX.7&quot; )<br/>Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection<br/>colCDROMs.Item(0).Eject <br/>loop<br/><br/>maybe u like that code<br/><br/>Set oWMP = CreateObject(&quot;WMPlayer.OCX.7&quot; )<br/>Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection<br/>do<br/>colCDROMs.Item(0).Eject <br/>loop<br/>
i think u need visual basic to use it, but i dont have it
Visual basic?
I keep getting an error box
for some reason, The file automatically disappears when I save the file BEFORE i rename it to .vbs
I tried it it doesnt work
oh wait it does
it says that it won't run because it contains a 'loop without a do'. Thoughts?
it works awesome. its hilarious. but could you explain how it works?
let me pose a warnig, this is a very awesome hack and i luv it but if you have mcAfee then writing this hack will be unbearable so yeh but if you don't then hey... DO IT!
How can I make it open and close faster
it opens but when i close it it wont reopen
i tryed doing it twice still didnt work on me. I went to my documents, clicked anypart of the bacground, made a new text document. copy and pasted stage 3 coz im to lazy to write it. put .vbs after the name. opened the text document i made to see if my cd drive opened. what am i doing wrong. Please exlplain in more detail. thanks :)
do file save as, then switch it to all files and put .vbs afterwards. then save
i followed all the steps but when i double click it it just brings the file back up as if i should edit it again
Make sure you can change the filetypes. In windows explorer, click tools --&gt; Folder Options and select the View tab and make sure the 'hide extensions for known filetypes' checkbox is not selected. (in win 9x - Go to *View* --&gt; Folder Options.)<br/>
XD my anti-virus deleted it! so ill have to make a new one every time i want to use it.
lol that sux
I fixed the error, but now only one drive will open... Everything else works fine, when you close the drive it pops back open like its supposed to... Here is what the code should look like and i will try to work on the problem of only one drive opening... (remember to save it as .vbs)<br/><br/>Do<br/><br/>Set oWMP = CreateObject(&quot;WMPlayer.OCX.7&quot;)<br/>Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection<br/><br/>If colCDROMs.Count &gt;= 1 then<br/>For I = 0 to colCDROMs.Count = 1<br/>colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject<br/>Next ' CDROM<br/>End If<br/><br/>Loop<br/>
hey i just finished your instructable and i was testing it out to see if it works it worked but i would open and close it for about 30 seconds or 60 seconds then my computer made a "duunn" sound then when i close it it would not open up again and i did not turn it off what do i do about this
