Step 3Making the legs

Making the legs
4) Pair up the leg pieces (leave two spare for the neck) and sew each together along the outer side (the longest side) Turn out flat and sew on the toes using a small zigzag stitch. Each foot has one Big toe (on the seam) with a small toe either side. (see image a) Use black embroidery thread to make a little cross halfway up the outer seam. Sew up the inner leg. Pin a foot pad onto each leg and sew around.

5) Sew both the tail pieces together, turn right way out and stuff slightly

6) Use the funnel to put an equal amount of lentils into the foot of each leg, then add a pinch of stuffing to keep the lentils from creeping up. Pin the legs onto the bottom body piece. The longer legs go at the front, with the back legs evenly spaced behind. Pin the tail on, too (See image b)

Tip: you may find it easier at this point to sew the legs and tail in place rather than leave the pins in.
