Step 4 Making the head and Neck

7) Sew the four upper head pieces together, leaving one side open. Fold out flat and Sew on the eye, eye highlight and cheek detail. The eye position is indicated on the pattern, and the cheek detail sits centrally on the seam to the left of the eye (See image c) Use small zig zag stitches to neatly stitch into place (see image d)

8) Use black embroidery thread to mark the eyelid, and a double strand to mark the eyelashes. Sew a black bead nostril either side of the front seam. (See image e)

9) Sew up the seam at the back of the head. Pin on the bottom of the head and sew around leaving a 4cm gap for turning.

10) Place the neck pieces together and sew along both sides. Pin the top neck piece on the larger end and sew on. Make a hole in the centre of the top of the neck and push the joint part through (see image f) Push this into the head and fix on the washer (smaller disk) and the fixing plate (with the smaller hole)
