I'm That One Eegit's brother, and I got out of them. I untied them with my mouth.

I did this to my brother. I tied him up behind his back. I used 10 ft of cord for this. I had giant ends after he was cuffed. I tied his arms to his body using the ends!

We used these while in the military as a quick way to detain combatants. If you place the hand flat together behind the back and tie the thumbs together they are impossible ti get your hands out of unless you cut them or someone unties them.

Very impressed! I would never have thought this to be as strong as it is, requiring the use of scissors to escape, and that's when not done very tight and without any knot to secure the ends! Thanks for sharing!

well, it does say: "Then use your favorite knot (I like the square knot) to secure the two tail ends together" don't worry, I missed that part at first too!

i made these hand cuffs and their great but when i tested them out they came undone easily so i put them on myself and they arent coming undone and i asked my half asleep mom to help me untie them and she said later because she was too tired and i dont want to cut the rope cuz its all i have for now untill my paracord order comes in

what is that supposed to mean?

C'mon admit you used to tie up you little sister and brother just to keep them from annoying you .  Remember it was all just a big cops and hostage situation game? (jkng)

This thing really works well. I was just trying to make my own using paracord. I put it in my hand and tightened it a little bit. I still give a little space for my hand to move around.
When I tried to loosen it up, it was just impossible without breaking my hand. So I ended up using a screw driver to loosen the knot in the middle :))

Great Instructables!

After you tie this, put a good locking knot ot keep it closed. Then melt it.
Apr 17, 2010. 11:22 AMiac says:
Just remember to cuff people with their palms facing out / away from each other. Otherwise they still have use of their hands !
Apr 17, 2010. 9:47 AMtdreyer1 says:
Don't forget the very last knot to tie the loose ends together, otherwise it's pretty easy to slip the know loose.

Great idea just have to keep the POW away from sharp objects.
I will try this knot looks cool. During my military service we used Zip tie handcuffs,  too bad I didnt see this instructable 16 years ago.

I think these are excellent testimonials to the effectiveness of your design!

i thought ahead far enough to not tie it on my wrists.. but i still made the mistake of tying my ankles together haha!
Apr 8, 2010. 5:10 AMkvnsdlr says:
A smaller version of this for just the thumbs is also a good idea, ever had your thumbs tied together behind your back?? Yeah, me neither, but it works. In my auto I carry zip ties that have come in handy and patiently wait for the opportunity to zip tie a perps' thumbs!! Haha

Might i suggest a different title picture? Its kind-of hard to see your brown paracord on gray rocks
Apr 7, 2010. 5:41 PMThe Ideanator says:
Something like a white background.
Apr 7, 2010. 8:43 AMeygen says:
Very cool improvisation if you really need it. I know duct tape and zip ties work as well :)

by the way, that's a Rick Hinderer isn't it?
Apr 7, 2010. 1:28 PMeygen says:
Sigh. I wish I could afford one. I don't have any expensive knives, but that could also be viewed as an achievement :P

Still, some paracord won't kill my wallet.

Whenever i've took someone hostage (in a rl game airsoft etc) i used three zipties One to hold the other two Circles together I cut the end of that off And tightened the two circles around the wrists ! was hard to get undone we had to use pliers all the time
Apr 7, 2010. 10:41 AMbackscan says:
cool instructable

btw  on step 6 I think you meant to say  "Better for behind the back as teeth can be used to undo the knot."
