Step 5: Cat Training

Hey cat people - next time you move, butter your cat's paws before you let them outdoors for the first time at your new residence. Instead of darting out the door in a panic, the cat will sit down to lick the butter, which gives it a little time to become aware of it's surroundings.  Not only is butter a tasty treat, but your cat's coat will be glossier, and the grease from the butter will keep furballs at bay.

Also as the cat walks around between licking it's paws it spreads the butter. The cat then will smell the butter for a LONG time (over a year) on the grounds around the house and will return back to the house.

Please don't let your furbabies outside. Indoor/outdoor cats have an average lifespan limited to 5-6 years, Indoor cats average 10-15 yearss companionship. Barn cats in the country probably do better because of fewer stray dogs and vehicles, but coyotes have spread throughout the country and are a danger even in the suburbs. They even seem to be hunting in small packs.
Besides, last time I smeared something on my cat's paws, she wiped it off on the furniture.

I need a separate instruct able for how to get your cat to hold still while you butter it up. This one's a head scratcher to me. :)

Cat pilling? Simple...
One person: wear elbow length bar-b-que or welders gloves and safety goggles, grab cat...

Second person: when cat howels, throw pill down cats throat, runs for their life...

My dad in law told me that one.... He got very upset when I said: Oh dad, you are just pulling my leg.

Another thing this does for kitty is, if you set him/her down on the grass/dirt after buttering them up, they'll get the dirt on their paws, and then lick THAT off as well, which gives them the scent of home, adding another layer of the sensory knowledge of 'home'. My ex cousin in law (follow THAT one) swore by this for her barn kittens, and said she never lost one to running away. :)
