Step 26Printing and Photocopying

Printing and Photocopying
If allowed, print and photocopy on both sides of the paper. I hate it when I get a test at school that has just one side printed on.

Save a few trees, print on both sides.

it would also be nice if offices really went for less paper usage and enforced it. what year are we in again? most offices seem to be stuck in the 90's

Really? I heard SOOO much more about recycling back in the 90's. Back then you could actually find recycled paper. I once bought a case of 100% recycled paper out of principal, even though I still had half a case of the otherwise available paper. That was years ago, and now I am on to the recycled stuff.

Most students like getting one sided tests (means less questions). But generally I agree that paper has two sides for a reason. Most people prefer one-sided printing because they don't know how to set a printer to do double-sided printing. It also may be hard to figure out how to flip/rotate a pile of papers to do the other side.

kinda funny, cause it's really not that hard to double side or "duplex" print, especially on newer printers / copiers. It's like in the main set of options and then you put the papers to be copied into the feed rather than the scanner bed.

At work we have a draft printer that saves paper by printing on the back of used paper. Save up one sided paper and load the machine with it and you are good to go. Saving a pound of virgin paper saves 7 lbs of CO2. Saving a pound of recycled paper (typical 30% post consumer content) saves about 5 lbs CO2. Hitting the right bin (recycling bin) when you are done with paper saves 3 lbs CO2/lb of paper recycled. (That multiplier even works in metric units :-)
