Handkerchiefs instead of tissues
Instead of wasting all the tissues that are at school, bring a handkerchief to school.

I have been using them for about nine years now, and I would never go back. Also the dust from facial tissues make my allergies worse!

Handkerchiefs harbor any posible communicable sicknesses. Around the home, fine, at school, no good. Partial fail.

hm..I wonder if I should replace my toilet paper with tiny scrap fabric...someone correct me but since toilet paper breaks down once flushed, is this idea more or just as sustainable?

Except that it is gross carrying little packets of snot around in your pockets and I hate the idea of throwing them into the washing machine with my other clothes.

You are currently carrying packets of snot...ALL THE TIME. In your esophagus. Grosssss! But true. Oh, bodies. They're nasty, but you live in one, and most of the things we think are gross are just the factory doin' its job. It's OK to have a hanky. Grampas do it all the time, and they tend to know what's up.

Your underwear is much WORSE. Think about it - it came out of your nose and mouth, it's actually pretty clean! As a bonus, cloth hankerchiefs are much less abrasive on the skin than paper - so you'll avoid red, crusty skin the next time you have a cold!

After having a cold with handkerchiefs, I'm never going back to disposables. I can only imagine the scheming it took to get people to switch to more expensive, lower quality, and unsustainable paper handkerchiefs. 'Disposable society' indeed.

Your underwear is probably just as bad...
