100 Ways to Reduce Your Impact

Step 81Reusable Coffee Filters

Reusable Coffee Filters
Use reusable coffee filters instead of the paper ones. You can buy mesh filters that last quite a long time, rather than throwing out paper filters each day.

Also, the French Press and theromos are great ways to limit the use of a coffee filter! French press is absolutely delicious!

Here is a froogle search of some:

Yes, but it's made from sustainable, eco-friendly, green, low carbon footprint, magic paper. Every time you use one, a Republican breaks an arm.

You can do WAY better than that! Start with free trade coffee. A baby polar bear is hatched for every pound you buy. Next, low-volume production, hand-made coffee cups. Al Gore hires another reindeer to pull his private jet for every $1000 spent. Then move on to the filters. But remember, if you use a coffee maker that uses electricity, earth mother cries. If you use a gas stove, earth mother cries. Don't burn mom's wooden children for the heat! Looks like you're down to solar. It might take a while to get up to temperature, even in sunny California, but I find this to be a good opportunity to try it out in delightful Basra, where it was 125 degrees just a couple of weeks ago.

Or better yet, use a french press, no paper involved. Better coffee too.

French press! Great idea. I was thinking that Brennn10 could add here the coffee makers that use the thermos rather than the heating element below the pot.
