12Volt IN, Adjustable output power source!

Step 5Conclusions

The previous step WILL work, however, if someone out there has a more convenient and efficient way to take 12V input and convert it to a diverse many outputs (voltage wise) please let me know!

The inverter will be GREAT for powering lamps, laptops, and larger appliances, but it's efficiency is not worth charging my ipod or phone... It will charge them of course, but its power consumption will probably be greater than the power consumption to actually charge the batteries in my devices!!

So, its up to you instructables, how do we come up with an efficient, compact way of taking 12Vs DC and outputting it at variable lower voltages? Car adapters are quick a & convenient way to bypass much electrical engineering - but if its easier to even create your OWN adapters (that are safe and won't over-charge) please! Do us all a favor and let it be known!
