Some really great ideas here! Thanks for sharing.

BobH160 (author)2017-07-31

Cut them into 18" lengths and fix them loosely together with para-chord. If you are going for a walk stick them in your rucksack then if you want to sit down for a rest or to enjoy a view but everything is cold or wet, lay it out and you can enjoy a warm dry bum.

Karebears (author)BobH1602017-08-12

This is definitely a great idea! Many prefer to be dry over wet. Lol.

BobH160 (author)Karebears2017-08-13

If you were camping it could also be used as a pollow.

Karebears (author)BobH1602017-08-13

Very true as well.

thdishmon (author)BobH1602017-08-06

Thanks, that is a great tip.

thdishmon (author)2017-08-06

I have used the noodles in my boots and to fill buckets. All the rest are new ideas and I can't wait to try, now I just need some noodles. I will be off to my Dollar tree soon they have plenty.

Karebears (author)thdishmon2017-08-12

Lol, my thought was exact!

johowie2010 (author)2017-07-30

I used them recently in a move to protect pictures. Just cut them to size with a mat knife, slit one side and slip them over th edges. Then pack them in a box. They worked perfectly.

Karebears (author)johowie20102017-08-12

Yes! This is such an amazing idea! Thanks!

thdishmon (author)johowie20102017-08-06

Great idea, Thanks

Lol, thanks!

Mark 42 (author)2017-07-31

I used one to make covers which slip over horseshoe stakes (cut in half & slid over each metal stake)

Karebears (author)Mark 422017-08-12

Great idea!

hamsammy made it! (author)2017-07-31

Great job!! Here are my two uses:

1- A Small section on the lanyard of my waterproof camera makes it float instead of sink when we're on the river

2- A long section slipped over the bar of my car jack keeps it from dinging the panels.

Karebears (author)hamsammy2017-08-12

Thank you so much! These ideas you have are very smart as well!

Millie-Feuille (author)2017-07-31

Karebears (author)Millie-Feuille2017-08-12

Lol, me either! And thanks!

greatbigdragon (author)2017-07-30

I used a length of pool noodle as a barbell pad for performing back squats. That's pretty useful.

Karebears (author)greatbigdragon2017-08-12

Another great idea! That would be a great use! Thanks!

DonnH1 (author)2017-07-30

You must have really used your noodle to come up with all these terrific ideas. Thanks!

Karebears (author)DonnH12017-08-12

lol, my mom was trying to find a way to use the old noodles we had in our back yard and I just thought of random and useful ideas. Thanks!

throbscottle (author)2017-07-30

I'm imagining what your house must look like, noodles, noodles, everywhere!

Good ideas here :)

Karebears (author)throbscottle2017-08-12

Lol, to be honest there are noodles everywhere as my family is a diy family. Thanks for your comment!

rkrishnan7 (author)2017-07-30

Great ideas!

Your bucket filler idea is especially useful in early spring in northern climes, where one has to do repairs on old, hardened garden hoses ends, but not if you first soak them in very hot water! Getting hot water in sufficient quantities out into the garden can be a challenge. In addition to being flexible the pool noodles are great thermal insulators too and this should help!

Another use for them is to make DIY tires for toys, RC planes, etc.,

Karebears (author)rkrishnan72017-08-12

Thank you so much for your ideas! I'm glad that you find the bucket filler a useful one as I do so as well!

Costa Rica (author)2017-07-30

I live in Costa Rica and we use pool noodles on our air conditioner copper lines for insulation

Karebears (author)Costa Rica2017-08-12

Nice idea!

chefspenser (author)2017-07-24

Nice post thank you. We cut them in half lenghtwise & put them under our doors to stop our new kittens from sneaking into rooms. I also put them on plastic coat hangers to prevent creases on pants... cut the noodle longer than needed so they don't roll.

thdishmon (author)chefspenser2017-08-06

Do you cut them down so that they are no too big when you hang your pants on the hanger? Talking about kittens, I am going to get some to see if I can get them to stay on a corner my cat wants to scratch. Has anyone tried this idea.

chefspenser (author)thdishmon2017-08-07

Cut them so they are longer then the hanger horizontal piece, maybe a half inch...this will make them snug and not roll.

chefspenser (author)thdishmon2017-08-07

Don't let you cat scratch them, they scared and the kittens will try to eat them.

Karebears (author)chefspenser2017-07-27

You're more than welcome. Using it to block kittens is actually quite a smart idea!

grannyjones (author)2017-07-27

A boy's bicycle has an obvious place for such padding . . .

thdishmon (author)grannyjones2017-08-06

That is a very smart idea

Karebears (author)grannyjones2017-07-27

That is very true.

MatthiasU (author)2017-07-30

How is #18 different from #21?

grannyjones (author)2017-07-27

We put a piece of noodle around the top of the windshield of a Power Wheels car so the tyke driving will avoid a painful face plant.

Karebears (author)grannyjones2017-07-27

Oh, that is a smart use for the noodles.

KVSBUNNY (author)2017-07-21

especially like the bucket filling idea, never saw that before!

Karebears (author)KVSBUNNY2017-07-21

Thank you so much! I've found these uses from noodles very helpful and I'm glad to share them with you!
