If I want this effect, I just use a disposable camera with slow film and a scratched lens in a dim room.

I love your suggestions. I currently live in upstate NY and have found that a double layer of panty hose gives as much insulation as wearing a pair of thermals or heavy tights without the added weight or bulk.
