30 years ago (year more, year less) I desperately needed a radial bit, but when I went to buy it, I chickened out for the price. As necessity is the mother of invention, thought and thought until I decided to try to make a makeshift radial bit.

At the same hardware store where they sold the tool that I found very expensive, I bought a steel screw with high brass nut, which are used to tighten the exhaust manifolds of car engines. The screw was standard, not like the photo that shows why I not find another.

Felicitaciones!
Texto original a continuación.
You're certainly not (el loco! (The crazy)), someone at an age such as yours still contributing to this site with a clever piece of equipment like this is still bright and young at heart.
Compliments!
One do that one can... or a bit less.
Automatic translators are genial, but sometimes are treacherous. Ie: your first phrase was in spanish "you are not sure", that is only a likeness of that you intended to say. I suppose many wars were due to human translators!
Most importantly, we want to understand each other.
Where there is a will there's a way.
I am 60 years of age and I never imagined that I could understand the writing of someone whom I could not understand when I listened.
About translating someone gave me a tip: It helps to translate back and forth several times (with copy and paste in two windows or tabs) until what you get back is similar to the original.
I use Google translate, a left-click on a translated word shows alternative words (very useful ).
Certainly, it is.
I usually do the "go and back" often with Google Translate. I have learned some English with Instructables, if you read my first collaborations and comments you will see it, and that although many have been subsequently corrected.
And thanks for the comment!
Thanks for comment.
I'm getting tired of scratching my head trying to figure out why didn't I think of that :-b
Simply brilliant!!!
You're an inspiration my dear friend, please don't stop giving.

The "tale" was that I was commisioned to give a workshop about hobbies to LDS Young Men. I proposed and they approved the idea of constructing some wooden and tin toy cars, but come Saturday, I went to buy the radial bit and it was too expensive for me, so after a while of hesitation I decided to pray about the problem, and strongly came to me the inspiration to make it myself, the way I described. That has happened with other material things as well. Example, a system to comfortably view genealogical records for a friend.
Thank you for putting this together, and for repeating part of the project in order to take new photographs to show us!
I am also, as always, grateful that you're willing to provide an English translation for your Instructables.

Actually, this little improvised tool has always been source of wonder to me.
The thing that I did not say is that it is too to me an evidence of the power of a simple prayer said with genuine desire to help. That is another tale...
