About: Hi its Tarun. I love to make DIY art and crafts, Foods, Photography and Lots more .Follow me to see more cool arts and Projects

Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create shapes which make up designs to decorate greetings cards, pictures, boxes, eggs, and to make models, jewelry, mobiles etc. These items can all be used as thoughtfully designed gifts which many people would highly appreciate. Quilling starts with rolling a strip of paper into a coil and then pinching the coil into shapes that can be glued together. There are advanced techniques and different sized paper that are used to create 3D miniatures, abstract art, and quilled flowers among many things.

So i decided to make my own with the use of some basic things which you can easily find around your home. I am making a 3D potrait of Dog which is similar to my Dog named "Tolu"...:D

Lets Begin!

Step 1: Basic Sketch

In order to make quilling art first we will need a basic sketch as reference on which we are going to add paper strips in 3D way.

Use pencil and paper to make your sketch.

Step 2: Ingredients

1. Marking scale/ruler

2. Scissor

3. Coloured paper (I used black and pink paper sheet)

4. Glue

5. Tongs (To put fine strips on sketch)

Step 3: Cut Strips of Paper

Take black paper and scissor and start triming out the paper in the form of strips.

The lenght of the strip does not matter but the width i have taken is 0.5 inches

In the same way cut down the pink strips also.

Step 4: Glue Strips on Paper

Now take your sketch and follow the sketch with the paper strips as shown in figure.

Be care full while glueing them. If possible try to trace the pencil marks for better appearance.

Place and glue pink strips also as a tongue in mine case

Use Tong for better approximation

Glue them all and let them wet for a night.:)

Step 5: See What You Have Make!

After it gets wet, finally we are done with our wonderful quilling art with a Dog in 3D form. You can frame it or stick on your wall which will enhance your talent and as well as creativity in you.

This marks the end of this instructable.
