Step 3: Cut The Tape

First, cut a piece of tape that is twice the size that you want your bookmark part to be (it shouldn't be too long, I'd say about as long as the paperclip itself).

Step 4: Putting The Tape On

Unfold part of the paperclip (like in the picture) and slide the tape through until each piece of tape on either side of the paperclip is even. Then fold the paperclip back to normal and fold the tape in half.

Start off by making a line from the middle of the notebook on the left side and going to either the top right corner or the bottom left corner. Continue doing this until you have filled the entire notebook.

Step 12: Cutting Tape To Size

Measure out and cut the tape to the length of the part of the pencil you want to cover.

Step 13: Covering The Pencil

Put the long side of the tape on the side of the pencil and wrap it around. You will need to do this twice because the one piece of washi tape will not cover the whole pencil. So cut another piece and cover the rest of the pencil.

Step 14: Done!

This is a great project! I bought Washi Tape just for this project, and I think there are a lot of things to do with it. One suggestion is to put the tape on the other way, so the paper clip could be used for paper! :D Thanks!

I love washi tape! Great job! My only criticism is those dull and broken pencil tips--I am so OCD about freshly sharpened pencils! :) haha!

Beautiful! My pupils will be back to school September 12th, I'll be back the 1st. I'll keep these projects in mind.

I love this! I'm going to try it with all of my notebooks... Teachers would love them!=)
