Nice one! I've been doing the same thing for a long time but much simpler - wash, cut off stems, add 1-2 tbsp butter, nuke, eat.

Normally I steam my broccoli for about eight minutes in a steamer but I will try this method tonight. Also, I never thought about seasoning, I'll try that too! Sometimes I sprinkle some grated cheese over the still hot broccoli, very nice!
