Will #37 actually work?

Depends... some people swear by it (several comments to that effect), but here in Oz our birds are tough, and I've heard the CDs don't bother them. I know budgies love mirrors and we've had kookaburras and shrike thrushes pecking at their "rivals" in our windows... maybe the DCs distract them...?

I haven't actually tried it as we have no garden to speak of, and the birds are welcome (as long as they don't mind having a camera stuck in their face).

If you want to scare birds, big ugly rubber Halloween spiders do the job nicely.

Hmm... good idea (unless they're the kind of birds that eat them! We have kookaburras, magpies and crows that like meat- snakes, lizards, baby birds etc...)

I've tried a cut-out cat shape, a big scary face, a scarecrow etc when we were pestered by the shrike-thrush at dawn every day, but to no avail. Maybe a spider would do the trick!

Thanks for the suggestion!
