When the first bought my Raspberry Pi, I was told -- “Never put it in your bag or pocket without protections.” I didn’t listen. I put it in my bag with some other boards. Then, when I took it out, I saw the pins bent and scratches all over the surface of the board. That is how I ruined my first precious Raspberry Pi. Now, I’ve learned my lesson: always prepare an enclosure for each development board that you want to take care of.

Here, I would like to share my latest project -- 5 laser cut cases for 5 popular platforms:

Step 1: Arduino UNO R3

Arduino is an open-source prototyping platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino boards are able to read inputs - light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message - and turn it into an output - activating a motor, switching on an LED, publishing something online. You can tell your board what to do by sending a set of instructions to the microcontroller on the board. To do so you use the Arduino programming language (based on Wiring), and the Arduino Software (IDE), based on Processing.

Step 2: Arduino UNO R3 Case Assembly

What Do We Need:

  1. Acrylic parts
  2. M3 * 8 stud—— 3 pcs
  3. M3 * 5 + 6 Male stud—— 4 pcs
  4. M3 Nylon screws—— 7 pcs (may be you need cut it shot)
  5. M3 * 7.5 Nylon rivet—— 4 pcs
  6. screwdriver

Installation

Now, follow the picture, first install the stud and male stud into Arduino, then install the Acrylic parts. Do not forget to install the button.

Step 3: Raspberry Pi

Raspberry Pi is well known as the perfect board for learning, coding, and creating your own projects. In celebration of The Raspberry Pi Foundation fourth birthday, Raspberry Pi 3 is released.

The Raspberry Pi 3 has included integrated 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN, Bluetooth Classical and LE. You didn’t need additional peripherals to make it wireless. It has 10x the performance of Raspberry Pi 1. What’s more, it has complete compatibility with Raspberry Pi 2, which means almost all the previous Raspberry Pi 2 accessories are compatible with Raspberry Pi 3.

Step 4: Raspberry Pi 2/3 Case

What Do We Need:

  1. Acrylic parts
  2. M3 * 8 stud—— 4 pcs
  3. M3 * 5 + 6 Male stud—— 4 pcs
  4. M3 Nylon screws—— 8 pcs (may be you need cut it shot)
  5. Screwdriver

Installation

Follow the picture, first install the stud and male stud into Raspberry Pi. Then, install the Acrylic parts. You can try connecting USB cable, HDMI cable or other expansion boards. It must work~

Step 5: LinkIt ONE

The LinkIt ONE development board is an open source, high performance board for prototyping Wearables and IoT devices. It's based on the world's leading SoC for Wearables, MediaTek Aster (MT2502) combined with high performance Wi-Fi (MT5931) and GPS (MT3332) chipsets to provide you with access to all the features of MediaTek LinkIt. It also provides similar pin-out features to Arduino boards, making it easy for you to connect to various sensors, peripherals, and Arduino shields.

Step 6: LinkIt ONE Case Assembly

What Do We Need:

  1. Acrylic parts
  2. M3 * 5 + 6 Male stud—— 4 pcs (you might need to cut it short)
  3. M3 * 1 Nylon washer—— 4 pcs
  4. M3 Nylon screws—— 4 pcs (you might need to cut it short)
  5. M3 * 7.5 Nylon rivet—— 4 pcs
  6. M3 Screw nut—— 2 pcs

Installation

Follow the picture, first install the stud and male stud into LinkIt ONE. Then, install the Acrylic parts. There are many toggle switches, the installation will be somewhat difficult.

Step 7: Beagle Bone Green

BeagleBone Green (BBG) is a joint effort by BeagleBoard.org and Seeed Studio. It is based on the open-source hardware design of BeagleBone Black and developed into this differentiated version.

The BBG has included two Grove connectors, making it easier to connect to the large family of Grove sensors. It has also updated the 5V barrel to micro USB host.

Step 8: BeagleBone Green Wireless Case Assembly

What Do We Need:

  1. Acrylic parts
  2. M3 * 6 stud—— 3 pcs
  3. M3 * 5 + 6 Male stud—— 3 pcs
  4. M3 Nylon screws—— 6 pcs (you might need to cut it short)
  5. Screwdriver

Installation

Follow the picture, first install the stud and male stud into BeagleBone Green Wireless. Then, install the Acrylic parts. Do not forget to install the button~

Step 9: Beagle Bone Green Wireless

BeagleBone Green Wireless is a joint effort by BeagleBoard.org and Seeed Studio. Based on the open-source hardware design of BeagleBone Black, the newest BBGW has added two Grove connectors, making it easier to connect to the large family of Grove sensors. It is the first Wi-Fi + Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) board from BeagleBone community.

Step 10: BeagleBone Green Case

What Do We Need

  3. M3 * 5 + 6 Male stud—— 4 pcs
  4. M3 Nylon screws—— 8 pcs (may be you need cut it shot)
