5 Minute Vanilla/Sugar Cookie Cake

Introduction: 5 Minute Vanilla/Sugar Cookie Cake

First off thanks to scoochmaroo for letting me use her basic idea from 5 minute chocolate cake! So I went on experimenting with her recipe and I made a cake that tastes just like a sugar cookie! I hope you enjoy and check out her Instructable if you like chocolate!

Step 1: Ingredients

Here's the list of stuff you'll need:
  • microwave (most important thing!)
  • coffee mug
  • 4 tablespoons + 1/2 teaspoon flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons whisked egg - 1 egg is too much, 1 egg white is too eggy, 1 yolk is too dense, but 2 tblsp is just right!
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Step 2: Batter!

Put all ingredients into the mug in the order listed and mix until you get a batter. (Forgot to take pictures. DOH!)

Step 3: Cook!

Put it into the microwave for 3 minutes (1000 watt) or cook until you see it start to deflate.

Step 4: Eat!

Enjoy your sugar cookie cake! Add chocolate chips for a Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake!

It was ok. Tasted kind of like homemade playdough at first and it was pretty tough. Maybe something to lighten it up a bit?

thanks for the feedback! I will review the recipe and change it as needed. How was flavor? Did it taste like it was advertised? Any other problems, criticisms, or compliments? Lemme know!

It smelt really great :D but it was just really hard and bland tasting.

    You probably did something wrong

Thanks! I will find a way to lighten it up!

i have edited the recipe so try it now

Hi, Garrettg, I've had a blast experimenting with your recipe, and have come up with a variation of my own--if you'd like to turn it into an instructable, I'd be honored! Herewith:
    5-Minute Spice Cake
    4 T flour
    3 T packed brown sugar
    1/8 tsp baking powder
    Pinch salt
    1/4 tsp cinnamon
    1/8 tsp allspice
    1/4 tsp ginger
    Whisk together and set aside
2 T low fat plain yogurt
    2 T egg-beaters (or 2 T whisked egg)
1 T dark molasses, NOT blackstrap
2 tsp vegetable oil (I use canola)
    Splash vanilla
Whisk together, then add to dry ingredients, and blend til smooth. Cook in microwave on high for 2-3/4 to 3 minutes. Test by lightly touching the top, it should spring back, and a tester inserted in center should come out clean.
My husband and I shared this, and it was plenty for the two of us. And it was yummy! We have a large, rubbermaid microwave mug, and this caked filled it almost to the top.

This cake is so good.I just made it and it had the texture that I was looking for.I'm going to start making this more often.

I giving this recipe a smiley face :)

I only changed one thing to this recipe and it still tasted amazing! I didn't put in the egg but I added a tiny bit more milk and oil.

DUDE THIS IS AMAZING i just made this and i wanted to say that it works for gluten free people too just use your baking mix instead of flour!
