Introduction: 6 Degrees of Freedom (DoF) Platform
There is an online detailed tutorial which demonstrates how to create this 6 Degrees of Freedom platform.
It includes rapid prototyping, Arduino programming and PIC programming / conversion to a PIC based microcontroller. The project uses Flowcode which works nicely throughout.

First of all find an online project to follow and connect with a support forum. This way you are prepared in case you need some help.
We found an online project which looks at rapid prototyping using flowcode, which is also good for Arduino programming.

In this project they used a laser cutter. You could ask your acrylic supplier to cut it for you, if you do not have a laser cutter.
