Step 1: De-Stink Your Feet

SDC11702.JPG
If your feet are like mine, they probably get sweaty, and kinda gross after a day of running around. Prevent and solve stinky feet by putting some baking soda in your shoes. This will leave your shoes and feet smelling much fresher, perfect for getting dates!

For the record, baking soda and crude oil do not form soap. It's baking soda and vegetable oil (or animal fat) that makes soap.

Another use you could have included was sprinkling baking soda on your carpet and hoovering it out to deodorise it (rather like your shoes). Makes your house smell clean.

Who's gotten a date because of this instructable, i wonder? :)
t8rtot says: Jul 10, 2010. 4:53 PM
then ≠ than
trogdoroth says: Jul 10, 2010. 7:26 PM
which is why he wrote than and not then.
jimmytea says: Nov 5, 2010. 7:13 PM
No, he wrote "then"
"I hope these quick tips help you get more dates *then* you could ever Imagine!"
"Then" is an adverb. "Than" is a conjunction.

"It (then) is never equivalent to or synonymous with the conjunction 'than'"-wiki

"Imagine" should also not be capitalised.

No offence to the writer of the Instructable; I enjoyed it a lot. I also learned a new method to battle ants, which I have a pet-hate for. I just enjoy a discussion on grammar :)

Are you a grammar teacher or something?

My mother-in-law taught me this:

If you have a crock pock that sat too long and is all McNasty, fill it with water and baking soda and let it cook for a while. When you pour it out, it will be practically clean.

Since baking soda is a strong abrasive, it is not advisable to brush your teeth more than once a month with a soda. Will destroy your tooth enamel. It is also good to brush your teeth with baking soda over a period of several months rather than every month in order to restore the enamel. Baking soda has a teeth bleaching effect also.
FlatLinerMEDIC says: Dec 14, 2011. 10:06 PM
Yep yep. Enamel cant really be replaced either. I lost mine on a tooth from being on IV medications so much soo who knows what the magic cure is;/

baking soda ( a lil bit in water) helps my ulcerative colitis symptoms....do the research im not going to describe them theyre not "dinner table talk"
debster3 says: Dec 11, 2011. 2:51 PM
My dentist office suggest to everyone that they only use baking soda for brushing their teeth. They said that the effect of baking soda actually outweighs other abrasive treatments and toothpaste that are currently available. They have the whitest, strongest teeth in that office, without bleaching.

And that's why a box now sits on the stove. That rachel ray recipe for sesame green beans was doomed to fire. Wait until sesame oil is lightly smoking, and then toss in the (wet) green beans. D'oh! Almost burned down the kitchen, baking soda to the rescue.

Hey nice Instructable but you missed the best baking soda date trick ever! If you got a date but no time to brush then you might want to do this. - 1 Glass of water. - 1tbs of Baking Soda Add and Mix Then use it as mouth wash. Baking Soda neutralizes the funk.
aristide202 says: Dec 7, 2011. 7:14 AM
Abslolutely true, I agree and it is so much easy to . I should say a tea spoon in 150-200 cc of water. It's 10 years I do that and I decided on the results to take with me some baking soda almost costantly. It's very easy and extremely inexpensive Since then i also got almost no winter colds but I can't tell if it depends on that. Anyway itworks better with warm water . I advice agaist brushing your teeth with baking soda powder because when you will find out it is abrasive to enamel of yor teeth it may be too late and deadly epensive for sure.
red-king says: Jul 10, 2010. 7:01 PM
it would work better than what they've been doing...
DMills1617 says: Jul 6, 2011. 3:40 PM
Isn't that the truth!

I just realized as I'm typing this its been almost a year since you posted this...

You need to be careful about this though. Baking soda is abrasive, and you can seriously damage you teeth. I knew someone who always did this, and asked my dentist about it. In fact, there is a tiny amount of baking soda already in tooth paste.
